University of Ghana Maintains Leading Position in QS World University Rankings 2026
The University of Ghana has once again retained its position as the top-ranked university in Ghana and the West African sub-region in the QS World University Rankings 2026.
According to QS, the world’s leading university ranking authority, UG also held its spot at the global level—reaffirming its status as a continental leader in higher education.
This success follows a similar result in the 2025 edition and reflects major progress under the University’s 2024–2029 Strategic Plan.
UG scored an impressive 96.8 in Employment Outcomes, highlighting the global competitiveness of its graduates. In the International Research Network indicator, it earned 80.8, signaling strong global research partnerships.
In sustainability, UG continues to show leadership in environmental responsibility and ethical governance.
The University also achieved top marks in the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025, ranking first in Ghana and second in West Africa.
