Tragedy on Kumasi Accra Highway:
15 Church Members Killed in Fatal Crash
A devastating road accident on the Kumasi-Accra highway has claimed the lives of approximately 15 members of the Saviour Church of Ghana. The incident occurred in the afternoon hours of Sunday, around 2:30 p.m., on the Atwedie stretch of the highway.
According to preliminary reports, the tragic event involved a collision between a passenger vehicle transporting the church members and a fuel tanker traveling in the opposite direction. Eyewitnesses described the scene as horrific, with emergency responders and bystanders working frantically to rescue survivors and attend to the injured.
The group of church members was reportedly traveling for a religious event when the accident occurred. Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene, including personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Fire Service, and the National Ambulance Service. Several injured passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention.
