UCC SRC Credits Students with 10GB Data, Call Minutes, and SMS in Landmark Initiative
Cape Coast, Ghana – July 1, 2025 – The University of Cape Coast (UCC) Students’ Representative Council (SRC), led by President Abraham Norman Nortey, has rolled out a major welfare initiative, crediting all UCC students with 10GB of data, 100 minutes of call time, 400 minutes of Community User Group (CUG) calls, and 200 SMS. Announced on July 1, 2025, via the SRC’s official X account (@src_ucc), this move is part of the celebrations for the 62nd SRC Week, themed “62ND IS HERE!!!”.
This package aims to enhance students’ access to online academic resources and communication, supporting UCC’s digitalization efforts. It builds on the SRC’s prior initiatives, including a 10GB data distribution earlier in 2025 and the SRC Scholarship Support Program, which aided 33 financially challenged students in February. The SRC has also supported the UCC Muslim Community during Ramadan and provided life insurance aid to 28 students this academic year.
Students have welcomed the initiative, flooding X with excitement over the connectivity boost for both academic and social needs. The SRC’s proactive approach continues to set a benchmark for student leadership, with more innovative programs expected.
