IMANI Vice President calls for Academic-Industry collaboration to address developmental challenges
Mr. Bright Simons, Vice President of IMANI Ghana and CEO of MPedigree, has called for Ghana to adopt a structured recycling policy as a key strategy for both environmental protection and economic growth. Speaking at a policy engagement session at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), he emphasized that recycling should be treated as an economic opportunity, not just waste management. He also urged academic institutions to produce research that directly informs national policy and encouraged students to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship. Dr. Stephen Moore of UCC highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers in achieving sustainable development. The event ended with an interactive forum on youth involvement in policy, education reform, and technology.
