UDS Champions Africa, Sets Sights on World Stage, Seeks GFA Backing for China Games
The University for Development Studies (UDS) is set to represent Africa at the World University Games in China this September, following their historic 3–0 win over Lagos State University at the Africa University Games. UDS is the first Ghanaian university to qualify for the global event under FISU.
To rally national support, UDS officials, led by Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Elliot Alhassan, visited the Ghana Football Association (GFA). GFA Vice President Mark Addo praised their achievement and pledged support, emphasizing the role of universities in Ghana’s football future.
This collaboration highlights the growing link between academia and sports, positioning UDS’s journey as a symbol of national pride and a platform for showcasing Ghana’s youth talent on the world stage.
