The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has inaugurated a 10-member committee to plan and coordinate the 2026 Annual Public Lecture Series, officially launched on June 12, 2025.
Prof. Mavis Amo-Mensah will chair the committee, with support from five subcommittees covering Publicity, Publications, Protocol, Hospitality, and Fundraising.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual emphasized institutionalizing the lecture series as a flagship scholarly event and called for it to become self-financing. Other leaders, including Prof. Esther Danso-Wiredu and Mrs. Wilhelmina Tete-Mensah, praised past efforts and encouraged the committee to exceed previous standards.
The 2025 edition, featuring Prof. P. L. O. Lumumba, was highly successful. The upcoming 2026 lecture aims to expand national and international engagement while enhancing UEW’s public image and leadership in academic discourse.
