SACOST-UEW Partners Shape Attitude Ghana for Environmental Sustainability
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), through its Centre for School and Community Science and Technology Studies (SACOST), joined Shape Attitude Ghana to celebrate the NGO’s 11th anniversary and World Environment Day with a strong call to end plastic pollution.

Held at A.M.E. Zion Schools in Winneba, the event emphasized sustainability under the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution.” Key speakers, including Prof. Daniel Yelpieri, Prof. Enoch Sam, and Mr. Wonderful Baisie Ghartey, stressed the importance of personal and institutional responsibility in protecting the environment.

Speakers urged students and citizens to stop littering, recycle, and enforce sanitation laws. Mr. Joseph Ntsiful, from the Effutu Municipal Directorate of Education, highlighted the serious threat of plastic waste and called for its integration into school curricula.

The event featured exhibitions, debates, and clean-up activities, reinforcing UEW’s commitment to environmental education and sustainable development in Ghana.
