IWES-UPSA launches Supervisory Management Training program for Asante Gold Corporation staff
The Institute of Work, Employment and Society (IWES) at UPSA has launched a six-month Certificate in Supervisory Management for selected supervisory staff of Asante Gold Corporation (AGC), with participants drawn from subsidiaries in Chirano, Bibiani, Kubi, and Accra.
This initiative strengthens UPSA’s partnership with the mining sector, following a successful engagement with an AGC subsidiary. Speaking at the matriculation ceremony, Acting IWES Director Dr. Mrs. Erika Mamley Osae emphasized the programme’s focus on soft skills like leadership and ethical decision-making, calling participants “torchbearers” of organizational transformation.
General Managers Ing. Stephen Kwesi Yamoah (Chirano) and Dr. Sam Kwesi Takyi (Bibiani) encouraged participants to take the programme seriously, viewing it as a strategic investment in people and leadership development.
The event drew senior AGC officials, signaling strong institutional support for workforce capacity building.
