DIHEE-UEW Hosts Retreat on Data Analysis and AI Tools
The Department of Integrated Home Economics Education (DIHEE) at UEW held a two-day academic retreat (June 4–5, 2025) to enhance faculty research skills, focusing on quantitative data analysis and the use of AI in academia. Led by Prof. Peter Akayuure and Dr. Philip Siaw Kissi, the sessions covered statistical techniques and AI tools like ChatGPT for course design, literature reviews, and academic writing. Dr. Rosemary Quarcoo, Acting Head of DIHEE, emphasized the retreat’s goal of adapting to technological changes and improving teaching and research. Participants worked on departmental research projects and were encouraged to collaborate and apply the skills learned. Dr. Elizabeth Lani Ashong, who chaired the event, praised the initiative’s role in strengthening academic research capacity.
