The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has officially opened its modern hospital on June 4, 2025, marking a major step in enhancing health and academic support. Speaking at the event, UEW Governing Council Chairman Justice Jacob Amonoo-Monney envisioned the facility evolving into a teaching hospital for a future medical school. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stephen Mitchual highlighted the hospital’s comprehensive facilities and its role in advancing universal health coverage. Health Director Dr. John Yambah pledged high-quality, client-centered care with plans to collaborate and outsource expertise. Assistant Registrar Mr. Isaac Darkoh called for continued support to sustain the hospital’s mission. The facility is now a symbol of UEW’s commitment to healthcare excellence and national development.
