6th UMaT Governing Council Inaugurated

The 6th Governing Council of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) was inaugurated on June 4, 2025, by Education Minister Hon. Haruna Iddrisu at a ceremony in Accra. The Council, chaired by Professor Mrs. Goski Alabi, includes government appointees, university representatives, students, and industry stakeholders. The Minister emphasized UMaT’s vital role in Ghana’s industrialization, praised its Pre-Engineering Programme, and expressed confidence in the new Chairperson’s leadership. Prof. Alabi pledged to balance economic growth with environmental sustainability. The Council is tasked with steering institutional governance and strategic development at UMaT.
