AAMUSTED Organises Special Orientation for 2025 Retiring Staff
The Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) held a pre-retirement orientation on May 20, 2025, for staff retiring in 2025. The program focused on financial literacy, healthy living, and managing post-retirement expectations, reinforcing the university’s commitment to staff welfare.
Registrar Mr. Augustus Kwaw Brew emphasized the importance of preparing retirees to avoid challenges like financial distress and social isolation. Dr. Jeff Danquah Boakye, Director of Finance, advised on budgeting, low-risk investments, and small-scale entrepreneurship. Dr. George Wireko Brobby Bonsu, Director of Health Services, highlighted the need for physical activity, mental stimulation, and regular health checks.
Prof. Joseph Mbawuni, a retiree, shared personal experiences and encouraged emotional and spiritual readiness, while calling for tax relief on retirement lump sums.
