FAKE AI VIDEO: UHAS Issues Strong Disclaimer Over Fabricated Content Featuring Vice Chancellor
The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) has issued an official disclaimer over a fake AI-generated video falsely depicting the Vice Chancellor, Professor Lydia Aziato, discussing health matters and endorsing a specific drug. The video, which has been circulating on social media platforms, has been confirmed by university management as completely fabricated and misleading.
In a statement released on August 5, 2025, by the Directorate of Public Affairs, UHAS clarified that the Vice Chancellor has no connection to the video and has not made any statements or endorsements as portrayed. The statement emphasizes that Professor Aziato "disassociates herself completely" from the content and does not endorse any part of it.
The university strongly urged the public to disregard the video and seek verified information directly from official UHAS channels or the Vice Chancellor herself.
UHAS reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism and integrity in health education, noting its role as the only state university in Ghana focused solely on training healthcare professionals.
The public is encouraged to remain vigilant and verify the authenticity of digital content, especially in an age where AI-generated misinformation can easily spread.
