The Brew-Hammond Energy Centre (TBHEC) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has hosted an international delegation from Ghana and the United States to explore collaboration in renewable energy research, sustainability, and academic exchange.
The visit focused on Ghana’s energy landscape, with discussions on solar energy, sustainable technologies, and community-based renewable energy solutions aimed at improving livelihoods and expanding access to clean energy.
Director of the Centre, Prof. David Ato Quansah, highlighted Ghana’s Energy Transition Framework and stressed the importance of multidisciplinary research in addressing energy challenges through policy, innovation, and community engagement.
The discussions also covered emerging topics such as photovoltaic waste management, agrivoltaics, floating solar systems, and sustainable mobility, while both parties expressed interest in strengthening partnerships through joint research, student exchanges, and collaborative training programmes.
