Enactus KNUST Wins 2026 National Championship, Books Place at World Cup in Brazil

The Enactus team of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been crowned champions of the 2026 Enactus Ghana National Competition, securing the University’s seventh national title and successfully defending the championship it won in 2025.

The victory earns Enactus KNUST the opportunity to represent Ghana at the 2026 Enactus World Cup, scheduled to take place in São Paulo, Brazil, from November 16 to 19, where the team will compete against university teams from across the globe.

The annual competition recognises student-led entrepreneurial initiatives that create measurable social, economic and environmental impact. Universities from across the country present innovative projects designed to address real-life challenges through sustainable enterprise.

At this year’s competition, Enactus KNUST impressed judges with three flagship projects—PeelInnova, AgriCycle and Sunawash—each focused on transforming waste into products and solutions that benefit communities.

PeelInnova converts pineapple and orange peels into eco-friendly mosquito repellent products, including sprays, coils, soaps and air fresheners, helping reduce agricultural waste while contributing to the fight against mosquito-borne diseases.

AgriCycle promotes sustainable agriculture by processing organic waste into bio-organic fertiliser, improving soil quality and supporting increased agricultural productivity.

Sunawash transforms discarded plantain peels into medicated and laundry soaps designed to be affordable, environmentally friendly and effective for everyday household use while addressing common skin conditions.

The latest triumph builds on Enactus KNUST’s impressive performance in 2025, when the team won the national competition and advanced to the semi-finals of the Enactus World Cup in Thailand.

With another national title secured, Enactus KNUST will now turn its attention to Brazil, where the team hopes to improve on last year’s international performance and once again showcase Ghanaian innovation on the global stage.
