Members of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) are set to resume work following the suspension of the ongoing industrial action.
In a circular dated August 20, 2026, the UHAS branch of GAUA said the decision follows a directive from the association’s National Secretariat to suspend the strike.
Members who remained in Ho during the industrial action are expected to return to work on Friday, August 21, while those who travelled outside Ho have been given until Monday, August 24, to fully report.
The branch has also asked members to remain on standby for further directives following a scheduled engagement between GAUA’s national leadership and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
GAUA-UHAS expressed appreciation to staff and members of the University community for their understanding and support during the industrial action, while maintaining hope that ongoing discussions will lead to a satisfactory resolution of their concerns.
