Accra Technical University (ATU) has been recognised among the Top Colleges for Entrepreneurship Programs-2026 by Higher Education Review for its work in entrepreneurship education, innovation and enterprise development.

The recognition appeared in the publication’s October 2026 special edition in an article titled “Accra Technical University: Turning Technical Talent into Entrepreneurial Potential.” It highlights the university’s efforts to help students turn technical knowledge and innovative ideas into businesses and practical solutions.

Through its Centre for Entrepreneurship and Incubation Services (CEIS) and the ACTIVATE Programme, ATU provides students with entrepreneurship training, business incubation support and opportunities to pitch for seed funding ranging from GH₵5,000 to GH₵500,000.

In August 2026, CEIS also received accreditation from the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) to provide Competency-Based Training in Agripreneurship, Welding and Fabrication Technology, and Computer Software Development.

The university supports student innovation through facilities such as the DTI-ATU Demonstration Centre and Innovation and Incubation Hub. Its industry partnerships also provide students with opportunities for internships, mentorship and practical experience.

Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Engr. Prof. Amevi Acakpovi, ATU continues to link technical education with industry and entrepreneurship, with a focus on equipping students to solve real-world problems, create value and establish businesses.
