Bright Gyan Assumes Office as 32nd UEW-SRC President

Bright Gyan has officially assumed office as the 32nd President of the University of Education, Winneba Students’ Representative Council (UEW-SRC), following his swearing-in on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

In his swearing-in address, Gyan acknowledged the trust placed in him by the student body and said he understands the responsibility that comes with representing their voices.

He said his approach to leadership has been shaped by lessons from his upbringing, particularly the importance of dignity, character, humility and helping others without expecting something in return.

According to him, these values will guide him as he leads the SRC.

Gyan also made it clear that he does not see the presidency as a reward or trophy, but as a responsibility to the students who elected him.

“It is not a reward. It is not a trophy. It is a responsibility.”
