Jude Michelle Korleh Nortey has recorded the largest winning margin in the last five KNUST SRC presidential elections, securing a decisive victory in the 2026 election. She polled 10,435 votes to defeat Kelvin Obeng Fosu, who garnered 4,024 votes, giving Jude a commanding 6,411-vote margin.
Jude’s margin surpasses those recorded by the four previous KNUST SRC presidents. Frank Owusu won the 2022 election by approximately 2,000 votes, while Yvonne Osei Adobea secured a 3,714-vote margin in 2023. Kane Nana Francis recorded the narrowest victory of the five with a 613-vote margin in 2024, followed by Shakir Is-Haq Waiz, who won by 1,708 votes in 2025.
The 6,411-vote margin makes Jude’s victory the most decisive among the five consecutive elections from 2022 to 2026. Her result also places her ahead of Yvonne Osei Adobea, who previously held the largest margin within this five-election period with her 3,714-vote victory in 2023.
Jude’s margin, however, is not the largest in KNUST SRC election history. Charles Adu-Baah Jnr recorded a larger 7,729-vote margin in 2019, defeating Samuel Sesah. Jude’s 2026 victory nonetheless stands as the largest winning margin among the five most recent KNUST SRC presidential elections, marking a striking return to a landslide victory after the much closer contests of 2024 and 2025.
