Pent Hall Emerges Victorious in 2026 UG SRC Debate

Pent Hall has emerged victorious in the 2026 University of Ghana SRC Debate, with its representative, Andrew Kwasi Kattah, and fellow debater Ann Donya securing the top spot after a fiercely contested final.

The debate, held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the University of Ghana SRC Union Building, formed part of the activities for the University’s SRC Week celebrations.

The finalists advanced through several rounds of competition under the Mock British Parliamentary Debate System before facing off in the final for the 2026 title.

Speaking to Univers News after the contest, Pent Hall representative Andrew Kwasi Kattah described the victory as a surreal moment, particularly because it was his third attempt at the competition.

He explained that winning the debate was especially meaningful as he wanted to end his final year at the University of Ghana by accomplishing something significant.

Kattah also praised the quality of competition, describing the final as a difficult contest while commending the growth and improved argumentation within the debating society.

For Pent Hall, the victory adds another achievement to its representation in this year’s SRC Week activities, with Kattah and Ann Donya delivering a strong performance to secure the coveted 2026 UG SRC Debate title.
