UCC SRC Unveils Five-Year Roadmap to Transform Student Leadership

Student leadership at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) is set to take a more structured and long-term direction following the unveiling of the Students' Representative Council's (SRC) first-ever Corporate Strategic Plan.

The five-year roadmap, covering the period from 2026 to 2031, outlines the SRC's vision to strengthen student welfare, improve governance and drive sustainable development through carefully planned initiatives. Rather than focusing on short-term administrations, the plan is intended to provide continuity for future student leaders while ensuring consistent progress in the Council's operations.

The strategic framework is built around eight key priorities, including infrastructure development, enhanced student support services, academic excellence, leadership development, student employability, entrepreneurship, strategic partnerships and good governance.

Speaking at the launch, Chairman of the Strategic Plan Committee, Professor Daniel Agyapong, described the document as a transformational blueprint that will guide the SRC's activities over the next five years. He noted that the framework promotes inclusive leadership, accountability and effective resource management while serving as a roadmap for successive SRC administrations.

Professor Agyapong further urged students, staff, alumni and other stakeholders to actively support the implementation of the plan, stressing that its success depends on collective commitment from the entire University community.

The launch attracted University Management, staff, students and alumni, who welcomed the initiative and expressed confidence that the strategic plan would strengthen student governance and enhance the overall student experience at UCC. The immediate past SRC President, Kwame Ntim Ntimamoah, also encouraged students to embrace the document as a guide for the Council's future development.
