UHAS Honours Retiring Staff for Years of Dedicated Service

The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) has honoured five members of staff who retired during the 2025/2026 academic year, recognising their dedication and contributions to the growth of the institution.

Held under the theme “Building UHAS through People: The Foundation for the Future,” the ceremony brought together University Management, staff, retirees, family members and invited guests to celebrate the achievements and lasting impact of the retirees.

Speaking at the event, Acting Registrar and Director of Academic Affairs, Dr. Cedric B. Dorkenoo, thanked the retirees for their commitment and years of selfless service, noting that their efforts have played a vital role in shaping the University's development.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Frank Edwin, also praised the retirees, describing them as individuals whose dedication helped strengthen UHAS over the years.

Delivering the keynote address, former Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Harry Tagbor (Togbui Tagbor III) encouraged the retirees to see retirement as the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities for mentorship, family life, community service and personal growth. He also advocated stronger retirement support systems, including financial education, healthcare and timely payment of retirement benefits.

As part of the ceremony, the retirees received citations, plaques and gifts in recognition of their distinguished service. The event ended with renewed appreciation for their legacy and UHAS' commitment to recognising the people whose contributions continue to shape the University's future.
