UCC Swears In New Student Leaders for 2026/2027 Academic Year

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has officially inducted newly elected student leaders into office, marking the beginning of their one-year tenure to serve the student body.

The ceremony saw executives of the Student Representative Council (SRC), Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG), and the UCC chapter of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) take the oath of office, administered by former Acting Registrar of the University, Mr. Ebenezer Aggrey, on behalf of the Registrar.

The newly sworn-in SRC executives are led by Emmanuel Acheampong Nana Adjei as President, with Regina Yayra Adenyo as Vice President and Benedicta Tiwaa Danso as General Secretary, alongside other elected officers. Abdullah Muniru was also inducted as the GRASAG President, while Samuel Adjei Anderson assumed office as the UCC Local NUGS President.

In a message delivered on behalf of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Denis Aheto, the new leaders were congratulated and encouraged to prioritise collaboration, accountability and the welfare of students. He also commended the outgoing executives for their contributions, particularly efforts towards addressing student accommodation challenges through partnerships and the construction of the SRC Hall Annex.

The outgoing SRC and GRASAG Presidents, Kwame Ntim Ntiamoah and Gideon Quansah, presented reports on achievements recorded during their tenure before officially handing over leadership.

The new student leaders pledged to serve with commitment, promote student welfare and continue ongoing projects while strengthening cooperation between students and University Management.
