A British Airways pilot, Kwame Yeboah, has been sentenced to eight years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to the rape and sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl he groomed through social media.
The 30-year-old first contacted the victim online in late 2025 before travelling to meet her in person. Prosecutors said it would have been obvious to him that the child was significantly younger than the age she initially claimed.
According to court proceedings, Yeboah drove the girl to an isolated location where he sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions. The incident was later reported to police, leading to his arrest and prosecution.
Yeboah pleaded guilty to three counts of rape of a girl under 13 and one count of sexual assault of a girl under 13. In addition to his prison sentence, he was handed a 15-year restraining order.
Prosecutors described the case as one involving grooming and exploitation, stating that the victim was manipulated into believing she was in a caring relationship while being subjected to abuse.
