The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has officially launched its 75th anniversary celebrations under the theme, “From Excellence to Eminence: 75 Years of KNUST,” while unveiling a commemorative book highlighting the University’s contributions to national and global development.
The publication, titled “70 Years of Global Impact: A New Age for Renewed Focus 1951–2025,” was launched by Chancellor Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who described it as an important historical record documenting KNUST’s evolution, achievements, and impact on society over the past seven and a half decades.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson reflected on the University’s journey, noting that KNUST has transformed lives through education, research, innovation, and leadership development, producing graduates who continue to contribute significantly to various sectors across Ghana and beyond.
Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Prof. William Otoo Ellis, said the publication was inspired by the need to document KNUST’s role in shaping Ghana’s development and preserving its legacy for future generations.
The anniversary launch also featured strong support from patrons and alumni, with the first copy of the commemorative book attracting a pledge of GHS1 million from the Chairman of the University Council, Achamfour Asafo Boakye Agyemang Bonsu.
As KNUST marks 75 years of excellence, University leaders reaffirmed their commitment to advancing research, innovation, digital transformation, and global partnerships as the institution pursues greater impact and international recognition in the years ahead.
