NANA ADJEI EMMANUEL WINS UCC SRC PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION FOR 2026/2027
Nana Adjei Emmanuel has been elected President of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Students’ Representative Council (SRC) for the 2026/2027 academic year after a closely contested election.

He defeated his main opponent, Richard Nana Kwame Agyemang of the Gidigba Empire, in a tight race that saw votes cast across halls, campuses, and student associations within the university.

Final provisional results show that Emmanuel, leading the Nyame Tease Movement, secured 7,576 votes, while Agyemang obtained 7,419 votes, giving Emmanuel a narrow victory margin of 157 votes.

The election was highly competitive, with both candidates recording significant wins in different voting centres. Nyame Tease performed strongly in key locations such as Valco Hall, ATL Hall, Oguaa Hall, and UHMS, while Gidigba dominated in areas including Casford Hall, KNH, and SRC Hall.

Despite the intense competition, Emmanuel maintained a consistent lead throughout the final collation process, which ultimately confirmed his victory.

He is expected to serve alongside his running mate, Regina Yayra Adenyo, pending official declaration by the Electoral Commission.

Supporters of the Nyame Tease Movement have begun celebrating the outcome, describing it as a hard-fought but deserved victory.

The Electoral Commission is expected to make the official announcement following final verification of results.
