The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has strengthened its international academic presence as Professor Dandy George Dampson, a Professor of Educational Administration and Management, takes part in an international teaching exchange programme at the University of Passau in Germany.

The one-month appointment, which began on June 6, 2026, is being undertaken under a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions and forms part of the Global Semester 2026 initiative, a programme funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to promote international perspectives in teacher education.

As a Guest Lecturer, Prof. Dampson will engage undergraduate student-teachers from different countries through seminars and workshops on the theme, “Schooling in the Age of Uncertainty.” His sessions will focus on educational leadership, inclusive learning environments, adaptive management practices and culturally responsive teaching approaches.

The appointment provides an opportunity for Ghanaian educational experiences and perspectives to contribute to global discussions on contemporary issues in teacher education while showcasing UEW’s expertise on the international stage.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Prof. Dampson has been invited to serve as a keynote speaker at the Global Semester Summer School, scheduled from June 29 to July 13, 2026. The event will bring together students, researchers and educators from around the world to explore innovative approaches to teacher preparation in diverse educational settings.

During his stay, he is also expected to hold discussions with faculty and administrators at the University of Passau to explore opportunities for research collaboration and future academic exchanges, particularly in the areas of diversity research and middle childhood education.

The exchange programme reflects UEW’s commitment to internationalisation, academic excellence and global partnerships aimed at advancing teaching, research and knowledge exchange.
