The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a teacher of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a student of the school.
In a statement issued on June 16, 2026, GES said it had become aware of a disturbing video circulating on social media allegedly involving the teacher and the student. The Service noted that investigations have been initiated into the matter.
According to GES, the teacher has been interdicted in line with its rules and regulations pending the outcome of the investigations.
Management strongly condemned all forms of inappropriate relationships between teachers and students, reiterating its zero-tolerance stance on sexual misconduct within educational institutions.
The Service further cautioned all staff to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and conduct in the discharge of their duties.
GES assured the public of its commitment to ensuring the safety, protection and well-being of students across the country's educational system. It added that appropriate disciplinary and legal action would be taken against any individual found culpable after investigations are concluded.
The statement, signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, emphasized that the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness and that further updates may be provided as investigations progress.
