The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has welcomed legendary Ghanaian highlife icon Pat Thomas and Odeneho Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe, Paramount Chief of the Odau Traditional Area, on a courtesy visit to the Council Chamber ahead of a special musical event.

The visit, held on Friday, June 12, 2026, was in anticipation of the Department of Music Education’s “Sound Flames” programme, which is being organised in honour of the celebrated musician.

Led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual and the university’s management team, the engagement brought together a vibrant delegation from the Odau Traditional Area, creating a rich blend of academia, culture, and music.

The event highlighted UEW’s commitment to preserving Ghana’s cultural heritage while celebrating influential personalities whose contributions continue to inspire generations.
