SHS Uniform Suppliers Protest Over Unpaid Arrears
Uniform suppliers for Senior High Schools across Ghana have staged a picket at the Ministry of Education, demanding the payment of arrears owed to them since 2023.

According to the suppliers, they have fulfilled contracts to provide uniforms to schools nationwide but have not received payment for services rendered over the past two years. They claim that despite several engagements with officials from the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service, the issue remains unresolved.

The group expressed frustration over what they described as repeated promises and postponed payment dates without any concrete action. Some suppliers said the prolonged delay has placed a financial burden on their businesses and affected their operations.

They further warned that if the outstanding debts are not settled promptly, the supply of uniforms for the next academic term could be disrupted, potentially affecting students who rely on the programme.

As of now, the Ministry of Education has not issued an official response to the concerns raised by the protesting suppliers.
