A presidential aspirant in the upcoming KNUST SRC elections, Nana Agyekum Boateng, has expressed concern over his exclusion from a publication by Voice of KNUST that featured candidates contesting the SRC presidential race.
In a press statement, the aspirant stated that his name and image were omitted from VOK’s publication despite his active participation in the ongoing election process. He further indicated that he was not contacted by the media outlet for his photograph, profile, or any information relating to his candidature before the publication was released.
According to him, the omission could create an incomplete picture of the race and potentially misinform students about the list of candidates contesting for the position.
He called on VOK to clarify the circumstances surrounding the omission and take steps to ensure equal visibility and fair representation for all aspirants.
The aspirant emphasised that his concerns were not intended to create tension but to promote fairness, accuracy, and inclusivity throughout the electoral process.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to a campaign centred on ideas, integrity, and service to the student body as preparations continue for the KNUST SRC elections.
