Florence Agyemang, a third-year Business Administration student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has won a bronze medal for Ghana at the 2026 African Senior Athletics Championships.
Competing in the women’s 400 metres at the Legon Sports Stadium, she clocked a time of 51.87 seconds to finish third and secure a podium finish for the country.
Her achievement comes after a remarkable performance at the 9th Mini Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games, where she emerged as one of the standout athletes, winning gold in the women’s 200m, 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay and the mixed 400m relay.
Her dominance at the university level earned her a call-up to represent Ghana at the continental championship, where she continued her strong form.
KNUST also recorded an impressive overall performance at the Mini GUSA Games, finishing second behind the University of Cape Coast (UCC), further highlighting the strength of the university’s athletics programme.
