The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) is set to admit nursing applicants for the 2026/2027 academic year despite the recent directive from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
The directive is understood to apply only to institutions seeking to start new General Nursing programmes and does not affect schools with already licensed and accredited nursing departments.
As a result, institutions such as UENR with existing accreditation remain eligible to continue admitting students into their nursing programmes. Prospective applicants have therefore been encouraged to proceed with their applications for the upcoming academic year.
