A Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Dr. Kwabena Koforobour Agyemang, and his Teaching Assistant, Peter Amoadu Asmah, have died in a fatal accident at Third Ridge along the Accra–Cape Coast Highway.

The tragic incident occurred while the two were reportedly travelling to Winneba for an official assignment, leaving colleagues and students in shock.

Eyewitnesses say a tipper truck lost control and veered off its lane before crashing into the vehicle carrying the victims.

According to reports, the victims attempted to move to safety after spotting the danger, but the truck allegedly ran over their parked car, crushing it completely.

Both Dr. Agyemang and his assistant were pronounced dead at the scene, with reports indicating severe impact injuries in the crash.

Dr. Agyemang, popularly known as Dr. K.K., was a respected lecturer in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning at UCC.

His Teaching Assistant, Peter Amoadu Asmah, was described as a dedicated academic support staff member who actively assisted in teaching and departmental work.

The accident has triggered widespread grief across the university community, with tributes pouring in from students and colleagues describing both men as committed and hardworking.

The incident has also renewed concerns about road safety on the Accra–Cape Coast Highway, which continues to record frequent fatal crashes.

Authorities are yet to release an official report on the cause of the accident, while investigations are ongoing and the bodies have been deposited at the morgue.
