The University of Professional Studies, Accra has officially unveiled its Diamond Jubilee commemorative cloth as part of activities marking its 60th anniversary, during a presentation ceremony held on Friday, April 24, 2026.

The cloth was presented by the UPSA 60th Anniversary Planning Committee to University Management as part of celebrations highlighting the institution’s six decades of academic excellence, professional training, and institutional growth.

Receiving the cloth on behalf of Management, Vice-Chancellor Prof. John Kweku Mensah Mawutor expressed gratitude to the Committee for their commitment and coordination, noting that the progress of the anniversary activities reflects strong teamwork and institutional pride.

He was accompanied by the Registrar, Mrs. Lorraine Gyan, and the Dean of the UPSA Law School, Prof. Ernest Kofi Abotsi, who also acknowledged the importance of the milestone and the symbolism behind the commemorative initiative.

The Planning Committee, represented by Mr. Francis Dadzie, Vice-Chair and Global Alumni President, and Dr. Leticia Akyeampong, Secretary, explained that the cloth design captures UPSA’s transformation from a professional training institute into a leading public university with a strong reputation for excellence.

They added that the commemorative cloth forms part of a wider programme of activities lined up for the Diamond Jubilee celebration, aimed at strengthening unity among students, staff, and alumni while projecting the university’s future ambitions.

The 60th anniversary celebrations continue to reflect UPSA’s journey of growth, impact, and contribution to higher education in Ghana and beyond.
