UPSA SRC Electoral Commission Declares 2026 Results for 2026/2027 Academic Year as Isaac Osafo Junior and Michelle Dora Win Presidency

The Electoral Commission of the University of Professional Studies, Accra Students’ Representative Council (SRC) has officially declared the full results of the 2026 SRC elections for the 2026/2027 academic year, with Isaac Osafo Junior and Michelle Dora Osae Poku emerging as President and Vice President-elect.

The presidential ticket secured 3,723 votes, representing 67.9 percent of valid votes cast, defeating Leslie Nkansah and Leslie Ackah, who polled 1,717 votes.

The election was conducted across multiple polling stations on campus under a decentralized voting system introduced to enhance accessibility and encourage wider student participation across faculties and schools.

In the General Secretary race, Victoria Owusu Amponsah won with 3,448 votes (63.3 percent), ahead of Andzie Walters Priscilla, who obtained 1,954 votes.

Samari Priscilla and Akushika Vicentia were elected Women’s Commissioner with 3,163 votes (58.1 percent), defeating Shirley Yemoh and Obenewah Priscilla Owusu.

Prince Owusu secured victory in the Treasurer race with 3,386 votes (62.8 percent), while Nuel Nuetey Godfred polled 1,960 votes.

In the Financial Controller contest, Billgate Elikplim Kuvor emerged winner with 2,848 votes (52.7 percent), narrowly beating Mercy Akuba Kwaw, who secured 2,527 votes.

Osborn Nyantakyi was declared Electoral Commissioner-elect with 2,241 votes (41.6 percent), ahead of Kofi Quainu, Emmanuel Hoedoafia, and Yaw Owusu.

Joshua Boateng won the Auditor race with 2,450 votes (45.4 percent), while Fortune Kamafo was declared winner of the External Affairs position with 2,293 votes (42.2 percent).

The Electoral Commission noted that voting was conducted across key polling centres including the Basketball Court, Club House, Lawn Tennis Court, and Yaw Osei Adutwum Premises, covering faculties such as Accounting and Finance, Information Studies, Management Studies, Law, and Professional programmes.

It added that the process was generally peaceful and well-coordinated, with results compiled from all polling stations before the official declaration of winners.
