The University of Professional Studies, Accra (University of Professional Studies, Accra) has engaged GCB Bank PLC as part of preparations for its 60th anniversary celebrations.
The courtesy visit, held on April 16, 2026, was led by the Vice Chairman of the UPSA 60th Anniversary Planning Committee, Mr Francis Dadzie, who also serves as President of the UPSA Global Alumni Association.
He highlighted the importance of the milestone and noted that the anniversary presents an opportunity to reflect on the university’s contribution to leadership, governance, and national development.
Mr Dadzie drew attention to the Ghana Business Leaders’ Conclave scheduled for May 15, 2026, describing it as a major highlight of the celebrations and a platform for dialogue on enterprise and economic transformation.
He also noted that the event, expected to be hosted by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will bring together key stakeholders in business and industry.
He encouraged GCB Bank PLC to actively participate in the programme and support broader anniversary activities.
The Managing Director of GCB Bank PLC, Mr Farihan Alhassan, welcomed the delegation and commended UPSA for its transformation and impact over the years.
He assured the university of the bank’s willingness to explore collaboration, including support for anniversary events and possible enhancement of banking services on campus.
Discussions also explored broader institutional cooperation, including the potential installation of an ATM on campus to improve access to banking services for students and staff.
The visit forms part of UPSA’s wider efforts to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders ahead of its 60th anniversary celebrations.
