An alumna of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Bernice Asabea Kissi Boateng, has been appointed Group Head of Personal and Business Banking at Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) as part of the bank’s leadership restructuring and growth strategy.
The appointment is aimed at strengthening UMB’s customer-focused banking model and expanding its market presence in Ghana’s financial sector.
In her new role, she will oversee Commercial, SME, Consumer, and Prominence Banking, with responsibility for driving growth, improving customer engagement, and delivering tailored financial services.
With over two decades of experience in banking, she has previously held senior positions at Access Bank Ghana, GCB Bank, Bank of Baroda Ghana, and Intercontinental Bank Ghana.
UMB management says her appointment reflects the bank’s commitment to building strong leadership capable of delivering innovation, efficiency, and improved customer experience.
