The induction of Prof. Daniel Ganu as Vice Chancellor of Valley View University on April 19, 2026, has been marked by strong calls for disciplined leadership, institutional unity, and renewed commitment to the university’s mission.

The ceremony brought together government representatives, university leadership, traditional authorities, and stakeholders, and was framed as both a leadership transition and a moment of reflection on the future direction of the institution.

During the event, religious leaders described the Vice Chancellor role as a “spiritual trust,” emphasizing values such as humility, accountability, and service within the university’s faith-based identity.

The Registrar outlined the responsibilities of the office, stressing that the Vice Chancellor serves as both academic and administrative head, as well as custodian of discipline and strategic leadership. Prof. Ganu took a detailed oath committing to integrity, institutional loyalty, and service.

Representing government, Presidential Legal Counsel Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew highlighted that leadership is central to institutional success, warning that universities decline when leadership becomes unclear or inconsistent. She described the appointment as a responsibility grounded in public trust.

Deputy Minister of Education Clement Abas Apaak described the event as a renewal of purpose, stressing the need for universities to train ethical leaders and not only award degrees.

Local representation from Joseph Akuerteh Tetteh and traditional authorities from Oyibi also reaffirmed the university’s role in community development and regional growth.

In his inaugural address, Prof. Ganu presented a leadership agenda focused on academic excellence, financial sustainability, staff development, institutional strengthening, and strategic partnerships. He called for unity among stakeholders, noting that shared purpose is key to institutional progress.

He also stressed the importance of a positive student environment, stating that discipline must go beyond rules to include safety, respect, and inclusion on campus.

Prof. Ganu further urged national attention to the role of private universities in Ghana’s education system, calling for broader support in policy and funding frameworks.

The ceremony concluded with a shared understanding that his tenure begins a new phase of accountability, collaboration, and strategic transformation for Valley View University.
