The University for Development Studies has opened applications for several senior leadership positions, inviting qualified and experienced professionals to apply for key academic and administrative roles across the institution.
In a public advertisement issued by the University, applications are being accepted for Deans of Schools and Faculties, Vice-Deans, and Directors for selected directorates, as part of efforts to strengthen academic leadership and institutional governance.
The available Dean positions cover the School of Public Health, Faculty of Sustainable Development Studies, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, and Faculty of Industrial Art and Technology.
Successful candidates for the Dean roles are expected to provide strategic academic leadership, oversee programme development and accreditation, promote research and partnerships, and ensure effective resource mobilisation and management within their respective faculties. Applicants are required to hold a PhD, possess professorial status, and have significant experience in teaching, research, and academic administration.
The University is also seeking Vice-Deans for the School of Economics, School of Medicine, School of Allied Health Sciences, Graduate School, Faculty of Physical Sciences, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, and Faculty of Industrial Art and Technology. Vice-Deans will support Deans in academic and administrative leadership and are expected to have strong research backgrounds and senior academic experience.
Additionally, UDS is recruiting a Director for the Directorate of Human Resource and Organisational Development. The role involves leading human resource policy development, staff management systems, organisational development, and industrial relations within the University. Applicants are required to hold at least a Master’s degree and have substantial administrative experience in higher education.
The University has also advertised the position of Director for the Directorate of Academic and Students Affairs. The role includes overseeing academic administration, student records management, admissions processes, examinations coordination, and academic documentation, while ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
