Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson has held talks with the Japan International Cooperation Agency on major infrastructure projects during the IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C.
The discussions focused on Ghana’s economic recovery and ongoing projects, with Dr. Forson indicating that the country has moved beyond the 2022 economic crisis.
JICA’s Senior Vice President, Mr. Ando Naoki, expressed confidence in Ghana’s progress and noted that efforts are underway to secure additional funding for the Volivo Bridge, with construction expected to begin by year’s end.
He also confirmed that the tender process for the Inner Ring Road project in Kumasi is ongoing.
The project includes widening a 3.2-kilometre stretch between Santasi and Ahodwo Roundabouts, upgrading intersections with modern traffic systems, improving pedestrian and drainage infrastructure, and enhancing connectivity to the N8.
The engagement highlights continued collaboration between Ghana and international partners to advance key infrastructure projects.
