The Apostolic Church-Ghana has officially banned the practice of kissing the bride at the altar during wedding ceremonies. The decision, approved by the Council of Apostles and Prophets at the 6th General Council Meeting in Accra, aims to uphold Christian and Ghanaian cultural values.
President Ami-Narh explained that while such practices may be common in Western weddings, they are considered inappropriate within the Church’s cultural and spiritual framework. Members were also advised to avoid awkward or immodest pre-wedding photoshoots.
The announcement was met with applause from delegates, who welcomed the move as a step toward preserving the sanctity of marriage and protecting the youth from social media influences.
