Central University has taken a step to improve career development and graduate employability by visiting Botho University in Gaborone. The three-day visit, held from 12th to 14th March 2026, was part of the University’s effort to learn from institutions with strong career support systems.
The delegation included Mrs. Stella Este, Director of Counselling and Career Services; Ms. Cynthia Azasoo, Coordinator of Career Services; and Mr. Evans Adu-Gyamfi, Assistant Registrar and Alumni Relations Officer. They aimed to learn ways to better support students’ career growth and employability.
During the visit, the team explored Botho University’s Career Development Framework, Student Affairs and Alumni Development initiatives, and employer engagement strategies. They held meetings with the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sheela Raja Ram, and other senior leaders to discuss graduate employability, industry partnerships, and structured career support.
The delegation also observed live career development activities and visited partner companies to see how Botho University connects students with employers. They took part in a radio discussion on Gabz FM, sharing insights about career development in African universities.
The visit was organized under the Education Collaborative, with Botho University identified as a key learning partner. Phatsimo Mosimanegape, Assistant Manager of Student and Alumni Affairs at Botho University, coordinated the activities.
Central University hopes the lessons learned will strengthen its career services, build industry connections, and better prepare students and alumni for success in a competitive global environment.
