Ghana and UK Discuss Strengthening Collaboration in Education Sector

The Education Minister, Honourable Haruna Iddrisu, recently hosted a meeting with the British High Commissioner, H.E. Christian Rogg, at the Ministry of Education. What began as a courtesy call quickly evolved into a productive discussion on enhancing cooperation between Ghana and the UK in the education sector.
Minister Iddrisu outlined key reforms aimed at expanding access, improving quality, and promoting equity, including initiatives in foundational learning, infrastructure, and innovation. He emphasized the government’s commitment to building a resilient education system that equips young people with skills for global competitiveness and expressed Ghana’s openness to credible, mutually beneficial partnerships that align with national priorities.
The High Commissioner welcomed the discussions and expressed the UK’s readiness to deepen collaboration. Such engagements, the Ministry noted, are vital for translating education policy into tangible benefits for students and the wider education sector.
