UMaT Introduces Innovative e-Water Booth to Boost Safe Water Access and Reduce Plastic Waste
The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, has launched an innovative e-Water Booth system on its campus aimed at reducing plastic waste while improving access to safe drinking water.

The initiative integrates local water vendors as operators and ensures quality through certified suppliers, making it a reliable and sustainable solution for the university community.

University officials revealed that, if successful, the project will be expanded to student hostels, nearby mining communities, and public areas, positioning it as a model for sustainable water access and environmental protection.

The e-Water Booth reflects UMaT’s commitment to promoting environmental sustainability while meeting the basic needs of students and residents in its surrounding communities.
