The Electoral Commission of the University of Mines and Technology Students’ Representative Council has issued a final warning to all SRC aspirants and campaign teams over breaches of electoral campaign regulations.

In a notice dated 8th June, 2026, the Commission observed that several aspirants had mounted campaign materials such as banners and posters at unauthorized locations across campus. It also raised concerns over the unauthorized use of the UMaT logo on campaign materials.

The Electoral Commission directed all aspirants to remove every campaign material placed at unauthorized locations before midnight of the same day. It warned that failure to comply with the directive would result in immediate disqualification from the ongoing electoral race.

The statement further reminded candidates that the use of the official UMaT logo on campaign materials is strictly prohibited, urging all aspirants to adhere strictly to electoral guidelines to ensure fairness and order in the process.

The Commission emphasized that compliance is mandatory and advised all stakeholders to respect the rules governing the elections to maintain discipline and credibility in the electoral process.
