MTN Ghana CEO Denies Claims of Data Theft
The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Stephen Blewett, has dismissed allegations that the telecom company steals customers’ data amid rising concerns over disappearing data bundles.

His response comes after several subscribers complained about rapid data depletion and unexplained loss of bundles.

Speaking on Friday, April 17, Blewett stated that MTN has no incentive to interfere with customers’ data usage, noting that such actions would harm the company’s credibility and lead to customer losses.

He explained that the fast consumption of data is largely caused by modern smartphone usage, including background app activity, automatic updates, cloud services, and high-definition video streaming.

According to him, many users are unaware of how much data these processes consume daily.

The MTN Ghana boss advised customers to actively manage their data by monitoring application usage, limiting background data access, and reducing video streaming quality when necessary.

He stressed that MTN’s values do not support any form of data theft and urged subscribers to become more conscious of their digital habits.
