Flooding across parts of Accra following heavy overnight rains has forced the Ghana School of Law to postpone the start of its examinations, with management prioritising student safety amid ongoing disruptions.
In a notice issued on June 29, 2026, the institution explained that it spent time monitoring weather conditions and consulting the Chair of the Independent Examinations Committee before taking the decision.
Students have been urged to rely strictly on official communication channels, including email, SMS, WhatsApp, the school’s website, and social media pages, for updates on when examinations will begin.
Management assured candidates that no student would be disadvantaged by the disruption, stressing that the situation is being treated as an “Act of God” and would not affect grading or participation.
Authorities further stated that examinations will only commence once roads and access routes are deemed safe for movement, adding that student safety remains the top priority.
The school also indicated that if papers proceed later in the day, adequate time would be provided for students to arrive safely after conditions improve.
The disruption comes after intense rainfall flooded several communities in the capital, affecting transport systems and prompting advisories for residents to stay indoors unless travel is necessary.
