The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) has issued a strong notice to the student body following reports of attacks and robberies involving students within and around the Ho campus.
According to the SRC, the incidents have caused fear and anxiety among students, prompting concerns about safety and security within the university community. The council strongly condemned the criminal activities and expressed solidarity with affected students.
In its statement, the SRC assured students that their safety remains a top priority and indicated that it is actively engaging university management and security agencies to address the situation and improve protection on campus.
Students have been advised to remain calm but highly vigilant, avoid walking alone especially at night, and move in groups where possible. The SRC also cautioned against the spread of unverified information, noting that it could heighten panic among the student population.
The council further encouraged students to promptly report any security incidents to the appropriate authorities or contact designated emergency lines, including the SRC Security Committee, university security services, and the Ghana Police Service.
The SRC emphasized that collective vigilance and cooperation are essential in ensuring a safer campus environment and assured students that further updates will be communicated as necessary.
