Students of the MBA Corporate Communications programme at University of Professional Studies, Accra have donated a 12-channel electrocardiogram (ECG) machine to the UPSA Clinic to enhance healthcare services on campus.
The donation, made as part of the students’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project, was funded through contributions from members of the graduate class and facilitated by their lecturer, Professor Adwoa Sikayena Amankwah.
According to the students, the initiative was undertaken after assessing the healthcare needs of the university community and identifying the ECG machine as a critical piece of equipment needed to improve diagnostic services.
Receiving the equipment, Dr Isaac Newman Arthur described the donation as timely, noting that the clinic previously did not have an ECG machine. He said the equipment would significantly improve the clinic’s ability to diagnose and monitor heart-related conditions among students, staff and other users of the facility.
The donation forms part of the practical CSR component of the MBA Corporate Communications programme, which encourages students to design and implement projects that positively impact their communities.
